James Christopher Frank is charged with criminal homicide after police discovered the body of his wife, Deborah Glaser, inside their home on 3rd Street, Northampton County District Attorney Stephen G. Baratta announced on Tuesday, March 11.

Bethlehem Township police were called around 8:30 a.m. for a welfare check after a concerned family member grew worried about the couple, according to the DA. Officers attempted to enter the home when Frank allegedly told them Glaser was dead in the bathroom.

Inside, investigators found Glaser’s body covered in stab wounds. Nearby, officers recovered knives, razor blades, box cutters, a hammer, and a mallet, officials said.

Frank allegedly confessed to cutting Glaser’s throat in the trachea while she was still alive before stabbing her in the chest and heart repeatedly, according to authorities.

His preliminary arraignment was held before Judge John C. Capobianco on March 11.

Frank remains held without bail.
